Vizioncore chief executive David Bieneman told The Hypervisor this week about his company’s plans to support virtualisation products from Microsoft and Citrix.

Currently the Vizioncore product range works with servers running VMware ESX Server. However, in a move that reflects the growing interest in other virtualisation systems, Bieneman said forthcoming versions of Vizioncore tools would also work with the Citrix XenSource hypervisor and virtualisation systems produced by Microsoft. “You should expect to see support for other VMware products later this year, and support for other hypervisors before next spring,” said Bieneman. “Virtual Iron will probably be be the first non VMware hypervisor that we’ll support,” he added.
