How to restore iPhone home button in iOS 10
If you upgraded to iOS 10 we show you how to fix the home button so it works like iOS 9
Lab Notes September 23rd, 2016

If you have upgraded your iPhone to iOS 10, the chances are you will have noticed the ‘Home’ button does not work the way it used to.
With earlier versions of iOS and phones that have a finger print sensor, resting your finger on the home button would unlock the screen. However, iOS 10 changes the default behavior of the Home button to work with the iPhone 7 hardware. While this is great for owners of the newest iPhones, the new way of unlocking the phone could be frustrating for users of older phones that have upgraded to the latest Apple operating system.
Fortunately you can change the way the home button works by updating the settings:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Go to General
  3. Go to Accessibility
  4. Scroll down to Home Button
  5. Switch On ‘Rest finger to Open’
